This will be a special show featuring two groups, one led by the Montreal based Trombonist/Composer, Alex Truelove, and the other led by the native Brooklyn Drummer/Composer, Brett Chalfin.

Brett Chalfin’s Brooklyn Project: 8:30pm
Time Out New York calls it “a jazz outfit that ranges from funky to lyrical.” Brett Chalfin’s “Brooklyn Project” has been around now for a little over 5 years. Brett formed the group with the help of bassist/composer Jeff Koch briefly after the two graduated from Adam Bernstein’s High School Jazz Program at the Berkeley Carroll School in Brooklyn, NY. The group will be joined by Danny Fisher-Lochhead on sax and former band member Sam Lester on electric guitar.

After graduating from the University of Michigan with a dual degree in Classical and Jazz Trombone, Alex Truelove relocated to Montreal where he studied classical Trombone at McGill University’s Conservatory of Music. In Montreal, Truelove continued to pursue his passion for Jazz, performing with various groups around the city, including the McGill University Jazz Orchestra. Here at Two Moon Art Space, Truelove brings together band members from past and present collaborations, in his New York debut as a leader.
